| Sometimes I forget how awesome my girlfriend is, and then I remember how far away from her I am.
Christmas was good, and I'm glad that my family is here and together, and it was actually good to see my mom's side of the family too. My aunt and uncle, with whom there has been no small bit of drama, didn't show up even though they called last night to say that they were. Ah well, no worries, even though I admit there was a less than civilized part of me that wanted my old buddy Brad to be here so that I could have a word with him.
I like you guys, I thought that maybe all my KC people needed to hear that. It really is a good crowd, I just wish that we could all free ourselves of the drama and weird stuff. Anyone who wants to just relax, regardless of how well I know you, just give me a call and it's very likely that we can hang out. Take it easy people, and merry Christmas.
| I'm watching Forest Gump right now, and it's a great movie. Sometimes I wonder if Kansas City just depresses people, or makes them more dramatic or irritable or something. Overall, of course, my friends are great and seem to be doing well, there just seems to be a growing drama/cynicism around here. I don't really know, but I hope it's temporary. | | |
| Ahaha! How sweet it is to be done with school! I have no classes left, one take-home final, one serious final, and two not-so-serious finals. I'm in the home stretch! After this next week, I can really say that I went to college for a semester, and it worked! How sweet it is...
I'm going to be coming back home on Dec. 14th, and I look forward to seeing my people back there again. For the record to anyone reading this, I haven't actually mentioned to anyone down here that I have a xanga, because obviously I don't really keep up with it as much as I should, and because in college, facebook rules all (which I also don't keep up with). Anyway, the moral of this story is that anything written on here is written to my people from KC, so assume that that's where anything I say here is directed.
Anyway, it'll be good to be home, it'll be good to see my old friends, it'll be good to see the Plaza lights, and it'll be good to ride the bus! I look forward to it all.
| I saw Get Rich or Die Tryin' the other night, and it was actually pretty cool. It spoke to the muscle-bound black rapper inside of me and encouraged me to pursue a profitable career of crack-slinging so long as I have a beautiful, loving wife and a boss with a cool nickname. In truth, it was better than I expected it to be, but rather mundane I'm afraid in terms of movies in general. I'm leaving tomorrow, and I'm trying to get a lot of people who I haven't seen, or haven't seen a lot of, together tonight. Call me if you want to come, anyone's welcome. | | |
| Well, again with the inconsistency, but I suppose there isn't really anyone who lives or dies by this thing. Anyway, I'll be back on my way to KC as of Tuesday, and ideally Alana and I will make it back around 6 or 7 that night. I look forward to getting back. Speaking of Alana and I, I reinforced my own image of myself on that front. Just recently I was explaining to another young lady that some friends of mine come to me for relationship advice. I can often help out, but not because I am actually insightful, but because if they are about to make a mistake, I've probably already made it and can warn them against it. I guess that's the deal though, live and learn, and Alana and I are going to be living separately now, but I definitely learned something. Long story short, she and I broke up, but we're on pretty good terms. Yes, it was my fault and my doing, but we're both ok and moving on. This all happened a couple of weeks ago, but of course if any of you are trusting to my xanga to stay informed on my life, then currency probably isn't much of an issue. Anyway, talk to me, call me, visit me when I'm back around, I look forward to seeing my KC crowd again. | | |
